Our Wines: Stewart Family Reserve
Our family has farmed in the Okanagan Valley since 1908. We believe great wines begin in the vineyards and we are deeply passionate about the quality of our wines. The Anniversary Series is a selection of wines grown on specific family vineyard sites. Each wine is crafted to the highest standards in limited quantities which are only available at the estate.
On the nose there are aromas of violets and lavender with intense ripe red and black fruits, spice and vanilla notes. On the palate the wine is smooth and voluptuous with beautifully integrated and polished tannins and a sumptuously long finish. We would recommend serving this wine with the finest cuts of red meats, as well as braises and casseroles.
Coming from our premium block on Upper Boucherie Road, this wine is a true expression of what makes Quails Gate Pinot Noir so special. A complex nose of lilac, black cherry, plum, forest floor and exotic spice. The palate is beautifully balanced and well-structured with expressive tannins and brooding dark fruit flavors. This wine is very Burgundian in style being both elegant and sophisticated. Wild game such as duck and venison, dishes with beets and wild mushrooms or an aged cheddar would be an ideal match for this wonderful wine.
Named in honour of our grandparents the Boswell Syrah is one of our most coveted wines after winning a Platinum medal at the BC wine awards. On the nose ripe berries and violets marries with white pepper and clove for an incredible bouquet. On the palate this wine has a velvety mouthfeel and deep flavours with a wonderful acidity that creates a long smooth finish. This Syrah is reminiscent of Northern Rhone wines with that distinctive old world style and flavour. Try pairing with a roasted rack of lamb or a rich osso buco and its braising juices.
The 2015 is a delightful, dry, medium bodied, fruity white wine. It opens with aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, red apple and stone fruit flavours with hints of spice and subtle mineral notes. The palate has great fruit intensity balanced by crisp, citrusy acidity and a long finish. The restrained use of quality French oak adds weight, mouthfeel and structure to this elegant wine. We suggest pairing with fresh seafood such as scallops and halibut, linguini with clams or grilled chicken kebabs.
The 2014 Rosemary’s Block Chardonnay is all about style, finesse and elegance. The wine has aromas of white flowers, Meyer lemon, hazelnut, subtle oak and mineral notes. The palate is complex with notes of stonefruits, shortbread and hints of vanilla all beautifully balanced with a bright, crisp citrus finish. This wine is very Burgundian in style and was well received by world renowned wine critic Steven Spurrier when he visited the Okanagan in the Fall of 2015. We recommend pairing with seafood, grilled fish, white meat dishes and many French cheeses.
The 2014 is typically dark and inky with a complex array of aromas and flavors. Expect intense black cherry fruit, coffee, chocolate, clove, vanilla and hints of smoked meat and toasty oak. The palate is smooth, rich and full bodied with velvety tannins and a long finish. We suggest pairing with venison, smoked brisket or braised red meats.
There are intense aromas of ripe orchard fruit, butterscotch, spice and toasty oak on the nose. The palate is very complex with flavors of baked apple, pear and peach complimented with spice, vanilla and brioche. The mouth feel is opulent, creamy and full bodied. We suggest pairing with seafood such as lobster and crab. Fresh BC halibut and creamy pasta dishes are also recommended as are soft cheeses such as Brie and Camembert.
A New World style Pinot Noir with aromas of rich, ripe red berries, cherry jam, and the sweet spices of clove and nutmeg. The palate is very seductive and complex, full of intense red berried fruits with intriguing exotic spices and a long lingering finish. This wine can be enjoyed right now but also has the ability to age for another 5-8 years. We recommend baked salmon, roasted duck and other game dishes with this wine.
