Quails’ Gate Winery takes great pride in our Chardonnay. As one of the original wineries in the Okanagan, our first Chardonnay clone was planted more than 30 years ago, and we have cultivated some of the oldest and most sought-after Chardonnay blocks in the region. Our Winemaking team consistently crafts a lineup of Chardonnay expressions that showcase the benefits of time and terroir.
2021 Stewart Family Reserve Chardonnay
GOLD. Chardonnay du Monde.
Built on a legacy of quality and consistency, our Stewart Family Reserve wines are produced from some of the best and oldest vineyards in the Okanagan Valley. This sophisticated Chardonnay is elegant, full-bodied and rich with vivid aromas of ripe, Okanagan peaches. The palate showcases flavours of crème brûlée and vanilla bean while displaying an elegant buttery charm and a lengthy finish.

In June 2023, Quails’ Gate Winery hosted a unique event aimed at recognizing the remarkable quality of Okanagan Valley Chardonnay. A panel of esteemed wine journalists and wine professionals were invited to partake in a blind tasting, meticulously evaluating and benchmarking Okanagan Chardonnay against some of the finest examples from around the globe, including Quails’ Gate’s own Stewart Family Reserve Chardonnay.

The Estate Chardonnay is crafted to be bright, fresh, vivid and celebrated by all who drink it. Expect inviting aromas of citrus, orange peel, apricot and lemon. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine displays notes of pear and citrus followed by a warm and lasting finish.

This smooth, rich blend stands up to the most flavourful forces. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah were hand-picked from the finest parcels on our Estate Vineyard in West Kelowna. Queue not only captures the essence of these blocks, but it is also derived from the Latin word cõda which in music, is an arrangement that punctuates the end of a symphony.

Our 2021 Queue carries forward an open and expansive bouquet full of blueberry, cocoa and violet. On the palate, rich waves of black pepper and inescapably supple tannins interlace throughout. The long finish builds gradually with equal measures of strength and elegance.
