Wine Shop Concierge

Quails’ Gate Winery is nestled in the beautiful Okanagan Valley in the southern interior of British Columbia. Our 125 acre estate winery, located on the shores of Lake Okanagan, is owned and operated by the Stewart Family, pioneering horticulturists since the turn of the 20th century.

We are seeking several seasonal employees to fill the role of Concierge to be the first point of contact for our guests.  As an on-site Ambassador; you will model excellent customer service as meet, greet and direct guests to Quails Gate and provide them with directions, information and communications to site locations, activities and future events. In addition you will assist with managing the parking lot, customer flow and complete general store cleaning duties.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+yrs of customer services experience – preferably in a winery, hotel or luxury retail environment,
  • Excellent communication skills; well spoken and comfortable speaking to groups,
  • Holds a valid class 5 drivers license,
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including day, evening and weekend shifts within retail hours of operation, and
  • Ability to be on feet for entire shift, working both indoors and outdoors.

Guest Experience Manager

The incumbent will assist in all areas of the property including the Wine Shop, private dining room, Old-Vines Restaurant and both on / off-site functions. Specific duties include:

  • Manage the Welcome Centre Operations and team of seasonal Concierge staff
  • Coordinate and facilitate all onsite tours
  • Act as host for VIP events
  • Inform and aide guests in all aspects of our property

Restaurant Manager

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team in the role of Old Vines Restaurant as the Restaurant Manager reporting to the Director of Operations.

The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the front of house service team; Servers, Hosts, and Bussers of Old Vines Restaurant.  In collaboration with the Culinary Director/Winery Chef, the Restaurant Manager will ensure each guest receives an excellent experience while visiting Old Vines Restaurant.  The Restaurant Manager will further be responsible for leading the front of house management team of Old Vines Restaurant and ensuring we achieve Quails’ Gates operational and financial goals.

Our successful applicant will be a natural leader and have an acute passion for customer service.  The candidate must also thrive in high pressure situations and have the ability to multi-task and take initiative. They must have previous hands-on technical service experience in a fine dining setting and be detail orientated and possess a positive ‘can do’ attitude.  Previous experience in a Winery restaurant an asset but not required however an advanced knowledge of Food, Wine and Spirits is required.

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a fine dining setting and posses an understanding of brand awareness, budgeting, planning, and be proficient with computers and technology, including POS systems.  Applicants must have the ability to work a flexible schedule such as weekends, holidays and varied shifts based on business volumes.

Intermediate Accountant

As our business continues to grow, so does our Accounting Department. We are seeking a permanent, full-time Intermediate Accountant responsible to provide accounting support for the finance function of the company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for Accounts Payable, Inventory Management, and assist with Financial Reporting. In addition, we are looking for an individual who will become the internal resource for our POS and inventory management software. This is a ‘hands on’ accounting position who will be a liaison / support person between the accounting department and operations.

The ideal candidate will have formal education in accounting complimented by 2+ years’ experience in a similar role. Experience with inventory controls is a significant asset.

Previous experience with Accpac / Sage 300 ERP is beneficial. You will also be familiar MS Office products including Excel and Word, and be capable of handling a range of assignments with a calm focused approach, have excellent communication, time management skills with an eye for accuracy and detail.
