SUSTAINABILITY

We believe that our patch of earth in the lush and fertile Okanagan Valley is among the most stunning places in the world: set on the shore of a glassy blue lake, generously warmed by BC sunshine, home to countless birds, insects and critters.

OUR PRIDE OF PLACE

Every operating decision we make reflects our pride of place. We have installed sophisticated water-management tools and drip irrigation in 95% of our vineyards, we seed grass and cover crops between rows of vines to reduce evaporation and we use compost and organic fertilizers to build healthy soil.

SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES

Quails’ Gate Estate is certified by Sustainable Winegrowing BC, a made-in-BC program that leads the way in sustainable winegrowing practices and sets a standard for the province and the rest of the country. We are honoured to be recognized alongside grape growers and wineries who are dedicated to making wine production sustainable now and for the future.

For more than 15 years, Old Vines Restaurant has partnered with the Ocean Wise initiative. Based on our philosophy to use sustainable and local ingredients, we have continued to ensure our seafood along with proteins are ethically caught and raised.

Wise

To protect the fragile ecosystems of the Okanagan Valley, we have joined forces with the Nature Conservancy of Canada in a quest to preserve our natural grasslands and water systems. Recently, we celebrated 10 years of support to revitalize conservation areas in British Columbia.
